CISD Superintendent Mr. Brad Clanton

I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of Crowell ISD and to be part of a community with such a proud tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and FFA. I truly believe that every student has a gift, a purpose, and a dream worth chasing. My goal is to create an environment to help ALL students grow, find what they are passionate about, and have the confidence and opportunity to pursue their dreams.

I have spent 29 years in education, and I started my career as a coach. For 14 years, I had the privilege of coaching baseball, football, golf, track, cross country, and basketball. Coaching taught me many lessons that have continued to shape who I am as an educator—relationships matter, hard work matters, teamwork matters, and sometimes the greatest growth comes when we are willing to step outside of our comfort zones.

After coaching, I moved into administration, serving as an assistant principal (1), middle school principal (14), and high school principal (4) before becoming a superintendent. Throughout each of those experiences, one thing has remained constant: I want to create an environment where kids feel known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to be curious. I want our students to feel comfortable exploring new ideas, asking questions, making mistakes, learning from those mistakes, and discovering just how much they are capable of accomplishing.

Outside of school, my family is my greatest blessing. I have been married to my wife, Melissa, for 32 years. Melissa is also an educator and has served as both a special education teacher and an elementary teacher. Together, we have two children, Brenden and Victoria, and we are also blessed with our adopted son, Tony. Our family has grown even more with five wonderful grandsons, who keep us busy, keep us laughing, and bring us more joy than we could ever put into words.

Crowell ISD has a history that I believe is worth protecting and building upon. Generations of students, families, teachers, coaches, and community members have walked these halls and contributed to the Crowell story. Each class has the opportunity to add its own chapter while carrying forward the high expectations established by those who came before them.

I am excited about what we can accomplish together. My hope is that when our students leave Crowell ISD, they not only have the knowledge and skills to be successful, but also the confidence to ask questions, the courage to explore their possibilities, and the belief that they can chase whatever dreams they have for their future. It is a privilege to be a part of that journey.
