Where the Adventure Begins

Where the adventure begins……that’s our theme for the 2018-2019 school year at Crowell ISD.  An adventure is defined as an exciting and remarkable experience.  Our faculty and our staff work hard each day to provide this type of educational experience for our students.  We may take the lead in this educational adventure, but we certainly cannot be successful without the support and engagement of our community and our families.  We are dependent upon it. Our recent Chapter 41 Election is a perfect example of this.   On behalf of our school board and staff, thank you very much for taking the time to come out and cast your ballot.  There were 17 early votes cast and 68 on Election Day.  When the votes were tallied, both options presented passed by a total 85 For and 0 Against.   These results ensure our property value stays in Crowell ISD and benefit our Wildcats.  Thank you for your support and confidence.

The start of each new school year is always exciting and filled with anticipation.  This year our teachers, staff, and students begin the year knowing that all of the hard work they put in last year paid off!  We are motivated by the progress made last year.  While we still don’t agree that a single letter grade can fully or accurately describe all that we do in a school year in the lives of our students, we are very pleased and encouraged with the B we received last week from TEA.   This first year of the A-F ratings mandated by the Legislature, only districts receive a letter grade while campuses are labeled ‘Met Standard’ or ‘Improvement Required’.  As a campus we Met Standard in all three domains:  Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gap.  We received the same accountability labels as a district along with an overall rating of B.  This was a big improvement from the letter grade we would have received at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.   During In-Service we celebrated our improvements and enjoyed seeing the fruits of our labor.  But now we put that behind us and get on with the work ahead of us this year.

It’s going to be another GREAT year at Crowell ISD!
