Week of December 11, 2017

The next couple of weeks will be a little quieter around the school.  On Monday and Tuesday, December 18th and 19th, we will release students at 1:00.  Our upper grades will be taking semester exams both of those days. But when the bell rings on Tuesday, our students will be on Christmas Break until the bell rings Thursday morning, January 4th

When our Faculty and Staff come back on Wednesday, January 3rd, we will be missing one very special person, Jane Halencak.   For the past sixteen years Jane has faithfully served the school board, the administration, faculty, staff, students, families, and the entire community of Crowell.  Each day of those sixteen years she gave her very best.  I have had the privilege to work with Jane for a year and a half.  I have seen first-hand the commitment she has for our school and our community and the responsibility she feels as she carries out her duties.  To say that she has been a good and loyal employee is an understatement.  Jane is one of the biggest fans and supporter of our students and staff.  She is a loyal defender of both and vigilant keeper of Crowell ISD traditions.   Personally, we will miss her being with us each day and professionally we will miss her knowledge and expertise.  But we are happy for her and hope she and Daryl have lots of fun adventures ahead.  We love you, Jane!

The New Year will not bring new faces to the administrative offices, just a little shuffling around of our current staff and job duties.  I am pleased to say we will be in very good and capable hands as Randi Moore moves from the Elementary office to Jane’s place.  Randi has been with the district many years and will do an excellent job for the district in her new role as Secretary to the Superintendent.  Lacy Smith, who came home this summer and joined our staff, will move from the Business Office to the Elementary Office.  To complete the reorganization, Shannon Chatfield will take on a few extra duties.  The fact that we can fill such an important position from within is a testament to the skills and expertise of our staff.

From our Wildcat Family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
