It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas……around town and here at school. Christmas trees are up and decorated in the entry ways of High School and the Elementary. As is the tradition, the Elementary tree is decorated with a personalized ornament for each student. Each year, Randi Moore recruits some help to lovingly make an ornament with each child’s current school picture on it and hang them on the tree. The kiddos love to search for their ornament on the tree. They also get a kick out of challenging adults they cross paths with in the halls to find their ornament. When they leave for Christmas break, they will take their new ornament home to add to their collection or to begin this very special collection.
Another wonderful tradition here at Crowell ISD is the Christmas program. Whether you have a child or grandchild performing, you will not want to miss this performance. Our students in Pre-K through 4th grade have been working hard to get ready for the big night. The program will begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12th, in the auditorium. After the program, make your way to the cafeteria for hot dogs. The PTCO will have cookies and hot chocolate for everyone in the Elementary hallway. There will be some fun activities for the younger ones too. We have invited two very special guests to drop by. If they can get away from the North Pole for a few minutes, they will be happy to pose for pictures! Our buildings are filled with laughter and love every school day. But there is something extra special when our families and community members come together in our rooms and hallways with our students. Please come and be a part of this fun evening!
Monday night, December 11th, we have a school board meeting at 7:00 in the library. Our Varsity Basketball teams will be in action that evening also at Electra beginning at 6:00. Thursday the 14th we have another treat for you. Our Advanced Theatre Class will present their winter play at 6:00 in the auditorium. This group of students thoroughly enjoy theatre and are looking forward to performing for everyone. Come out and support them. You will not be disappointed. To finish out the week our basketball teams will take the court again. Our Varsity boys will travel to Matador and our Varsity girls will take on McLean here at home at 6:00.
We are having a very good year here at Crowell ISD. We could not do it without the strong community support we enjoy. We have made progress in many areas and have plans to make even more progress before the year’s out. Please talk with your child about their +10 goal. Let’s keep them focused and on track.
It’s a GREAT day to be a Wildcat!
