Cheerleading
The 2009-2010 CHS Cheerleaders consist of:
Silvia Sillemon, Junior
Sydnee Parsley, Junior
Harley Moore, Sophomore
Jasmine Sillemon, Freshman
Andi Wisdom - Senior Captain
Savannah de los Santos, Junior
Jordan Guerra, Freshman Mascot
Allison de los Santos, Freshman Manager
Kelly Carroll, Little Cat Cheerleader, 3rd grade
Cheer season started in the spring of '09 with tryouts, and continued with camp during the summer. The cheerleaders, accompanied by sponsor Emily Roberts, attended NCA Cheer Camp at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. They followed up camp with their annual Little Cat Cheer Camp, where they taught six chants and a dance to the mini cheerleaders. The cheerleaders have since performed at Midnight Madness, Meet the Cats, and the Rumble in the Jungle in Trent, Texas. They have also produced their first pep rally successfully, and are in the process of producing the second. The cheerleaders started off the year with their new sponsor, Emily Roberts. Roberts is the wife of head football coach and athletic director Brandon Roberts. Roberts has implemented many new things and made several changes to help the cheerleaders succeed. She is very excited about the cheer program for the 2009-2010 school year. The cheerleaders are working hard to bring more spirit to the school, and instill pride in the town. The cheerleaders plan to have a pep rally every Friday during football season, and continue to cheer at football and basketball games throughout the year.
